Thummer Privacy Policy
The short version
Thummer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. It has no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything it does happens on your phone. The only network use is Google Play handling your subscription, described below.
What Thummer does
Thummer protects your phone while it is unlocked and in your hand. You rest one thumb on an on-screen zone while you use the phone normally with your other hand. If that thumb leaves the screen, Thummer hides the screen, asks for your fingerprint, and, if you do not verify in time, locks the phone using Android's standard device lock.
Information we collect
None. Thummer does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, photos, messages, browsing activity, device identifiers, or usage statistics. It does not use advertising identifiers and it contains no advertising or analytics software.
Permissions Thummer uses, and why
- Display over other apps. Draws the small zone your thumb rests on, and the black privacy screen after the thumb leaves. Thummer does not read or record what other apps show.
- Device administrator (lock the screen). Lets Thummer lock your phone when protection is triggered. This is the only device-administrator policy Thummer requests. It cannot wipe the phone, read data, or change settings.
- Biometric (fingerprint). Thummer asks Android to verify your fingerprint. Android performs the check and tells Thummer only whether it succeeded. Thummer never sees, stores, or transmits fingerprint data.
- Notifications. Shows the persistent notification Android requires while protection is running.
- Vibrate. A short buzz when a landing is too firm, and continuous vibration while the optional alarm sounds.
- Flashlight. While the optional alarm sounds, Thummer strobes the flashlight. This uses only the torch control; Thummer has no camera permission and cannot take pictures or video.
- Internet and network state. Added by Google's Play Billing library, which Thummer uses to sell its subscription. Thummer itself never connects to any server of its own and never uploads anything; the library talks only to Google Play to show prices, complete a purchase, and confirm that your subscription is active.
Data stored on your phone
Thummer stores your preferences (for example, the size of the zone and whether test mode is on) in the app's private storage on your phone. This data never leaves the device and is removed when you uninstall the app. Thummer writes diagnostic lines to the Android system log on the device; these are not collected by us.
Purchases
Thummer Premium is sold and processed by Google Play, not by us. We never see your card or bank details. Google's handling of your payment and account information is governed by Google's privacy policy. Thummer receives from Google Play only whether a subscription is active, and stores that answer on your phone so protection can start when you are offline.
This website
This policy covers the Thummer app. Our website, thummerapp.com, uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count page visits and which buttons and links are clicked, so we can tell which parts of the site are useful. Umami uses no cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and does not store personal information such as your name, email address, or IP address. The Thummer app itself contains no analytics.
Children
Thummer is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If Thummer ever begins to collect information, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the app's store listing will say so.
